Right behind piazza Trilussa there is one of Trastevere's oldest restaurants serving traditional Roman dishes called Checco er Carettiere. A few years ago, the restaurant's owners took over a dairy nearby and turned it into a bar and pastry shop. Here, in a very tiny room overlooking the street, you can also find genuine home made ice creams.
If you are not looking for extravagant flavors but for fresh quality ingredients, this is the place for you. Ask for your cono or coppetta, make your choice among the various flavors on display, add some fresh whipped cream on top and your delightful and nourishing treat is ready.
